National Heritage Seminar with the theme “Archive Authentication”

South Tangerang, FAH News Online - On 17 April, 2025, a National Heritage Seminar with the theme "Authentication of Archives" was held at the Abdul Ghani theatre room on the 5th floor of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. The event was organised by the archival study centre as part of the Festival 2025 Autonomous Organisation (LO), with the aim of preserving memory, exploring knowledge and creating art without limits. The event was attended by Dr Ade Abdul Hak, M. Hum., CIQnR, Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Fitriq Yeni S. SI., young expert archivist, Directorate of Preservation and protection of archives ANRI as a resource person and participants of the seminar.

This activity began with the opening by the Master of Ceremony, reciting the holy verses of the Qur'an, singing the Indonesia Raya song, singing the hymn of UIN Jakarta, remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M. Hum, CIQnR in his remarks he conveyed that the authentication of this archive can open our horizons about the importance of opening historical facts which can now be done digitally but has challenges related to distinguishing authentic and imitation, then he said that maintaining archives is the same as maintaining the nation's identity with these archives can be a force for us to bring the direction of civilisation or where we will

The next remarks were delivered by the chief executive of the Autonomous Organisation (LO) of the 2025 festival and by the chairman of Pusaka, followed by the presentation of material by the resource person, Mrs Fitriq Yeni S. SI., who was guided by the moderator in her presentation she explained that archives are records of activities or events in various forms of media in accordance with the development of information and communication technology, when the archive is created it must be ensured that it is authentic or correct and can be accounted for or has no doubt about the truth and must be integrated, which cannot be changed and has .

He also explained that the original archive cannot be said to be authentic, an authentic archive that has an accurate and reliable structure and condition, ANRI is guided by static archive authentication guidelines which consist of 5 chapters, he explained that there are 2 criteria that can be done for archive authentication, namely archives whose creators are unknown and archives resulting from media transfer where this media transfer will continue to be carried out following the times. Archival testing is carried out physically and content, testing of archive information includes historical, diplomatic and legal, archive authentication is carried out with various means and tools but the test results for archive authentication are closed for fear of being misused by individuals.

After the presentation of the material followed by a question and answer session, prayer together and documentation of the activities, the event was closed by handing over a plaque to the resource person by Dr Ade Abdul Hak, M. Hum., CIQnR and handing over souvenirs by the chief executive of the Autonomous Organisation (LO) of the 2025 festival and by the Chairperson of Pusaka.

The event successfully provided insight into how Archive Authentication is an important process to ensure that both physical and digital ARCHIVES are authentic, intact and trustworthy. By building a culture of Records authentication through clear policies, training and inter-institutional collaboration, we can preserve the value of Archives as valid and usable evidence for future generations.
