HMPS Tarjamah FAH UIN Jakarta Holds 2026 Executive Board Working Meeting
Ciputat, FAH Online News – The Student Association of the Translation Studies Program (HMPS Tarjamah), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially established the organization’s strategic direction through the Annual Working Meeting (Raker) for the 2026 term of service. This event, which marked the initial foundation of the new administration, was solemnly held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the 5th Floor Theater Room of the FAH Building, a venue that witnessed the birth of various innovative student work programs.
This year’s working meeting carried significant urgency as it was directly guided and supervised by the Head of the Translation Studies Program, Prof. Dr. Darsita S.. Her presence among the students was not merely ceremonial, but aimed at providing academic supervision and ensuring that every proposed work program aligned with the vision and mission of the Translation Studies Program in producing competitive professional translators in the digital era.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Darsita emphasized the importance of technological adaptation in the field of translation. She stated that HMPS must become a platform that is responsive to current developments, particularly regarding the integration of artificial intelligence in language practices. “HMPS is not only a place to learn organizational skills, but it must also become a laboratory of creativity where students can sharpen their translation and interpreting abilities to be industry-ready in the global market,” she asserted before dozens of attending functionaries.
The meeting agenda, which lasted from morning until evening, featured in-depth presentations from each division. Every department presented its strategic plans, ranging from strengthening language literacy to training in Computer-Assisted Translation tools (CAT Tools). Prof. Darsita also provided critical feedback and constructive suggestions during each presentation session to ensure that every agenda had clear indicators of success and broad impact for students.
The participants’ enthusiasm was clearly visible during the dynamic discussion and question-and-answer sessions. The 5th Floor Theater Room became a space for intellectual dialogue between the vision of the study program leadership and the innovative spirit of the students. Through direct guidance from the Head of the Study Program, HMPS Tarjamah 2026 successfully agreed upon several flagship programs focusing on external collaboration, language-based community service, and the independent publication of students’ translation works.
The working meeting concluded with a group photo session and a statement of commitment from the Chairperson of HMPS Tarjamah 2026 along with the entire board to carry out their responsibilities with full dedication. With the solid outcomes of this working meeting, HMPS Tarjamah is expected to become an outstanding and inspiring student organization, as well as a pioneer in the development of translation studies within UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta throughout 2026.
