Halal Bihalal Dekanat Faculty of Adab and Humanities of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta to the Rectorate Building: reviving tradition, strengthening friendship after Ramadan
The Rectorate Building, FAH Online News - Halal bihalal has become a unique and distinctive tradition in Indonesian culture, especially after the holy month of Ramadan. The Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) defines "halalbihalal" as an activity of forgiving each other after the fasting of Ramadan, usually carried out in a place such as an auditorium, hall, or meeting room, and becomes a form of social togetherness that is close to the values of friendship.
This activity is not just a place to forgive each other, but also a means of strengthening kinship relationships, both within the family, community, and institution. This tradition continues to develop into an open house event, where agencies or individuals open the door for guests to come and stay in touch.
This spirit was carried by the leadership of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. In a warm and intimate atmosphere after Eid al-Fitr, the dean's entourage led by Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., CIQnR as Dean, along with the Vice Deans-Dr. Ida Farida, MLIS (Vice Dean I), Dr. Siti Amsatiah, M.Ag. (Vice Dean II), and Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M.A, M.A, Ph.D. (Vice Dean III)-as well as the Heads of Study Programs, made a friendly visit to the Rectorate Building of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta.
They were warmly welcomed by the Rector and Vice Rectors in the main room of the Rectorate. The atmosphere of the meeting was full of kinship, creating a moment full of meaning-not only as a form of mutual forgiveness, but also as a form of strengthening the synergy between university and faculty leadership elements.
The halal bihalal tradition is a reflection of the values of togetherness, mutual respect, and solidarity in the academic environment. The meeting was also a momentum to strengthen our joint commitment in building a harmonious, inclusive, and collaborative campus atmosphere in the future.
